LA MISSION TRIP possible cancelation
Dear youth group and parents,
I have been a little sick with the flu recently and so I have not been up on everything. As of right now I only have 2 students signed up for the Los Angeles mission trip. The due date for the trip application was this past Sunday, March 11th. If you are wanting to go please bring your application to youth group tonight or drop it off at church by tomorrow. This is going to be a great experience so I hope that many of you are able to take advantage of it.

news from Anna in China
day two of week two
Hi everybody!!!! Just wanted to let you know that the food is great and the city is very beautiful at night. the streets light up with lots and lots of multi colored windows and what not. Today we took our oaths at the u.s consulate and so Li is now a u.s citizan. We went to the Zoo afterwards and saw a bunch of animals. we got to feed turtles lettuce and a pickle i think it looked like a pickle to me but i could be wrong and Li,Joshua,Mom,Dad feed fish out of a baby's bottle and i think that is cool to see them come up and all fight to get some food but at the same time it is very interesting. After the zoo we went out to dinner or what we thought would be a good dinner. At the resteraunt there is this table with a hole in the middle and that is where this really big bowl sites on and it connects to a heater type thing on the bottom. Anyway the menu was all in chinese so we had Li pick out some things and my mom picked one or two things on the menu to and it turned out to be a very strange dinner. the waiter brought us the bowl with broth and like a tomato in it and mushroom. later on we got chives and what we picked off of the menu. There was sardines, a turnup type veggi, chicken feet yes feet not leg or whatever feet, and a mystery meat. Nobody ate except Li and my dad ate a fish or two and a chicken foot. That is the up date right now i will try and write to u in two days or tomorrow see ya on sunday bye Anna

News from Anna in China
Hi Dan it is Anna,
just wanted to let you know that we made it to Zhengzhou safely It was really late at night and I have been up for twenty four hours. The city is very different than back at home. There are a lot of taxis and buses. The cars on the roads really like to honk at one another.
Today we went to the park just down the road from our hotel. When we got to the park a man came up to use and began talking to us in english. After a few minutes a whole bunch of people gathered around us and him. One lady asked me if i was chinese and i said no i am thai. That same lady sang us a song called silent night out of her bible. I thought that was really cool to see that happening in china.
One really big thing i have to get use to is the bathroom. So we have our modern day nice sitting toilets and here i go into one of the stalls and think ok no problem. Wrong. You literally have to squat down and do your business. Also you have to bring in your own personal toilet paper and that is just weird to me personally.
The people are very kind here even though we can't understand them they are still friendly and you can communicate with them you just have to take the time and say it slowly till it gets into their head of what you want from them or what you would like them to do for you.
